Due to continual mobility, an average CAMP student is faced with academic inconsistencies throughout their primary education. CAMP is specifically designed to identify, recruit, and monitor the academic achievement and retention of migrant students.
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds during their freshman year in college. The program provides students with both financial and academic support.
Four staff members, including a recruiter at WSU Tri-Cities, assist 50 participants each year as they complete their first year at WSU Pullman.

“My experience with CAMP has been a memorable one. The staff is amazing and have helped me in more ways than I can say. They support all of their students in every way possible, whether it be academic or personal. They involve us in so many events and build us up into the students we need to become in order to be successful in college. Camp has helped me become a better student and a better person. Not just through the message of excellence they model, but also through the workshops and activities they create that unify us CAMP students and help us develop strong study habits and professional socializing skills. I am very grateful that CAMP has made me and many others into legit college students, and I will never forget the great times I've had with the program.” |

"The CAMP program and its staff has helped me out so much, it is hard to say in words how wonderful it has been. Life here at WSU just wouldn’t be the same, because with CAMP we have become unified….like a family. I know I can always count on the staff and it is nice to know that there are people like them that care about us and our future so much: everything is possible with them and the CAMP program." |

"Camp is a great program! I don’t know what I would have done without it this year. Whenever I needed someone to talk to, tutoring, mentoring or help of any kind they were there for me. I love all the people associated with this program and have felt us come together like a family away from home." THANKS CAMP! |
